Every Friday we hold our whole school ‘Celebration Assembly’. During this assembly a range of awards and certificates are presented to children for excellent achievements and efforts in school. We also recognise the achievements of our children out of school too and children are encouraged to bring in certificates, trophies etc that recognise their unique talents.
Certificates are presented to children from each class for their achievements and efforts relating to all aspects of school life.
Star of the Week Award
A child from each class is chosen to be Star of the Week for outstanding achievement and/or effort.
The children are presented in Celebration Assembly with a special certificate and a special ‘sash’ to wear in school for the following week. An overall winner ‘Super Star of the Week’ is selected and is presented with a trophy which they keep for a week.
All Stars of the Week are posted on a noticeboard in school and published in a newsletter.
We have introduced a new award to help promote and improve presentation in our school: Presentation Award. Two children are chosen from each class using the following criteria: showing improvement in their work, producing high quality and well presented work. The children share their work with the whole school in Celebration Assembly. Each recipient of the award has their work displayed in school and is presented with a special certificate .
This is also posted in our newsletter or you can click here to see the names. Pictures of their fantastic work will be uploaded every half term.
At Escomb Primary School we are committed to promoting the highest levels of attendance. We present a weekly attendance award to the class with the highest percentage. This is displayed in the school hall. At the end of each term, the class with the best attendance are given a whole class reward. e.g. Climbing Wall session at Bishop Auckland College, visit to Escomb Play Area.
Attendance of individual children is also recognised at Escomb Primary School.
Children who have 100% attendance for that particular term are recognised.
100% cumulative attendance is also celebrated.
We are proud to present those children who have 100% attendance for the whole year with an award in our last assembly of the school year.
Class attendance and 100% individual attendance is reported on in our newsletters.
Each half term, we focus on one of the twelve values that contribute to life at Escomb Primary School. We believe that learning about these values encourages children to grown into confident, active and empowered citizens as well as effective learners. Children who have demonstrated this value each week will be awarded a ‘value leaf’ that is placed on our school Values Tree.
