Reading Revolution

We want to foster a love of reading in all our children and are doing lots of activities in the classroom to promote this. We kick started our reading revolution with an assembly ‘Ready Steady Read’. The aim was to encourage children to read on a regular basis at home, not just for the time of the sponsorship but to continue beyond this.   In the sponsorship we raised £416 which we will get a proportion of to spend on books for school.

Well done to our winners for reading the most amount of minutes:

  • Reception – Emily B
  • Year 1 – Nancy T
  • Year 2 – Daisy L
  • Year 3 – Joel A
  • Year 4 – April G
  • Year 5 – Brianna T
  • Year 6 – Mia H

We also held a Scholastic Book Fair from 9th October. It is fantastic to see the importance that our parents place on reading as we took £1316.54 in book sales. This is fantastic as we get 60% of this to spend on books in school!
